Welcome, it’s May.
Happy Spring!
The days are longer, the flowers are in bloom, and everything is stretching gently toward the sun. May invites us to soften, open, and reconnect with ourselves and the world around us.
You may be noticing a shift within yourself?
A natural pull to open up, move outward, and breathe a little more deeply. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, spring is a season of renewal and upward movement—a time when energy begins to rise and the body begins to wake.
The Season of the Liver & Gallbladder
Spring is associated with the liver and gallbladder, organs that help us plan, make decisions, and adapt with ease. Supporting these systems this season means staying flexible, moving your body, and creating space for your emotions to flow. When the Liver system becomes stagnant—often due to stress—it can lead to feelings of tension, irritability, or imbalance in digestion, menstruation, and mood. Acupuncture and cupping are both gentle, effective ways to restore flow and support these seasonal transitions.

Seasonal Allergies
It’s also the time when many begin to feel the effects of seasonal allergies. From a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective, allergies arise when the body’s protective ‘Qi’ (energy) is not fully regulated, allowing external factors like mold and pollen to invade. This can cause sneezing, watery eyes, congestion, fatigue, and brain fog. Acupuncture works by strengthening the immune system, regulating the body’s defenses, and calming the overreaction to allergens.
Ideally, treatments begin before peak allergy season, to help prevent symptoms or lessen their intensity. However, acupuncture can be effective during this period, soothing inflammation, opening sinuses, and reducing histamine responses.
This is a beautiful time of year to care for your whole system. Mind and body. Whether you’re feeling energized or tender, this season invites us all to move forward gently and with intention.
When you book, you are welcome to leave me a note about how you are feeling and what you would like to focus on and then prior to treatment, we will discuss your needs in depth, so I can come up with a special treatment customized just for you. Get ready to unwind and treat yourself, to exactly what you need this spring season.
